Students that were in the instrumental programs last year are automatically re-enrolled for this year.
All that is needed for NEW members is for the Instrumental Sign-up form (Button to the right) to be returned with your current information and signed by both the student and parent(s)/guardian(s) in Google Forms. (You must also have an instrument to bring to rehearsals and perform on). |
What does it mean to have a "Balanced" band?
A well-balanced band is perhaps the difference between an OK band and a GREAT band. Imagine turning the bass knob on your stereo all the way down. How would it sound? Not good at all, and that is how the band will sound without the proper balance of instruments. If we have all flutes, clarinets, saxes, and trumpets (with no low brass or low woodwinds) we will have your new stereo set-up.
I would like to extend a special offer to those students who would like to start, or switch, to one of the lower instruments. The switch is easy and the school might even have the instrument for you to borrow at no cost to you (except for repairs and cleaning while you have the instrument.)

What about starting as a beginner at BRMS?It is very important that every student who wants to participate in a musical ensemble have the opportunity.
For this purpose there will be open enrollment for beginners in September. 6th graders can join the band immediately, but 7th/8th graders will be allowed to join the band only when they have successfully auditioned for Dr. Piascik. Dr. Piascik highly suggests that all beginners in the 7/8th grade start Private lessons to help with the learning curve. |
