Honors Ensembles
Woodwind / Brass / StringsThe Music Honors Program is to challenge and recognize music students, in grades 6-8, who want to expand their musical education beyond what can be offered during the school day. Students who are interested will have to be accepted into the program and complete additional requirements to remain an active member. Percussion Ensemble
In order to challenge our percussionists, Black River Middle School has a before school Percussion Ensemble. This ensemble will meet on Thursday mornings from 6:45am – 7:20am starting in January. Any percussion student who is signed up in the Concert or Symphonic band can participate. Please see Dr. Piascik for more information.
Permission slips will be handed out in December. Note: There will be a Percussion Ensemble in the fall for 7/8th graders only. Please use the "Honors" form to sign-up |
"Encore" Jazz Ensemble
During the spring semester, Wednesday after school rehearsals are devoted to the Encore Jazz Ensemble. This will include the standard jazz band (trumpets, trombones, alto saxes, tenor saxes, bari-sax) with piano, guitar, bass guitar, vibes and drums. Auditions will take place in November and December. Keep checking the bulletin board and the web page for more information.
Rehearsals are mandatory. Please plan your spring sports accordingly. |
